One of my goals this year is to read 40 books. Why not join me and start with these two:

The Alchemist - Paulo Coelho

First published in 1988 , I'm almost embarrassed for not reading this jewel until now. But the good thing is that I read the whole book on New Years Day 2018; what a wonderful message to start out the year with.

This legend is about a shepherd boy named Santiago. He sets out to market to have his sheep sheared and learns of a treasure along the way.

Always loyal to his flock, he did not want to travel far to find the treasure. But he began to encounter strangers with messages about the treasure containing the secret to hapiness. Giving up his flock, he decided to follow the mysterious omens, and encountered many disasters.

Finally, when meeting the Alchemist, he is told to follow his heart. In the words of the Alchemist:"No matter what he does, every person plays a central role in the history of the world. And he normally doesn't know it."

I will stop here so I don't give away the ending. This book has a wonderful message for everyone.

Thank you for reading my review, I will excuse myself now while I go order all of Paulo Coelho's books!

Enjoy!

three deep breaths - Thomas Crum

three deep breaths is a short read that packs a powerful punch.

When business and family man Angus feels stressed by his job; and guilt for neglecting his wife and daughter, he begins to see a bleak outlook on his life.

After his daughter's advise,"When you don't know something, ask your teacher", the teachers begin to appear in his daily routine.

Lessons provided by strangers give Angus a new outlook on things and open his eyes to seeing the wonderful life that he has already built. This is a must read manual for solving daily conflicts when we are feeling overwhelmed.

As always, I hope you enjoy these books.

Keep Dreaming!

Coleen
